SCA Sophomore Places at World Guacamole Competition

With a heart for serving others, Elizabeth Montgomery has shown great determination to go on mission trips. In February, the SCA sophomore told her parents her desire to go on mission trips with her church and school. Knowing the trips wouldn’t be cheap, Elizabeth’s parents encouraged her to think of a way to raise money to help fund her trips. That’s when she started making homemade guacamole and selling jars of it to her friends, family and at farmer’s markets. Elizabeth’s guacamole grew in popularity and her small project turned into a USDA-certified brand called “Guac On.”

Fast forward nine months from when she began and Elizabeth has not only paid for a mission trip she went on to Honduras, but she also just recently placed 7th in the World Guacamole Championship in Los Angeles! She has also already saved money to go to Uganda in December, with plans to go back to Honduras in the spring.

Guac On, Elizabeth! We’re so proud of your accomplishments, creativity and determination to go on missions!
